Interviews...
Yay, accounting week is over and I'm all done with interviews... for awhile. A rather short while in fact. In two weeks I will be in Anchorage doing a second interview with KPMG for their tax internship. :D Hurrah!!! Heck, they liked me enough to tell me during Friday's interview that they had already decided they wanted to fly me to Anchorage. :) So, that's the biggest news relating to accounting week so far. Otherwise all my interviews went well, although most of the local firms won't consider me much until next fall when I'm closer to graduating. So we'll see what happens. Maybe I'll be in Anchorage this spring, or Portland in the summer, or back in Juneau, which would be really awesome too. We shall see. In the meantime, I have a term paper to find references for and I also have to create an outline of it for audit class on Monday. This evening Chris and some friends and I are gonna head out to Chena Hot Springs for the evening. That should be fun, as long as the roads aren't too scary. I'll definitely be driving slower than I normally would when those roads are dry. Anyways, have a great day! Good day everyone!

Waaaaay too stressed
Ok... so at the beginning of accounting week I figured this would all be easy. Well, in terms of what I've had to do, it has been. Heck, my professors have been easy on us and one even cancelled a class. But mentally this has been the most stressful week I've had in a while. Too much thinking about my future. "Hm... do I like this firm? Would I consider working for them? OMG, 2 big 4 firms are interested in me! But will they ask me for a secondary interview? Deloitte looks soooooo appealing, but I don't even know if they'll give me a chance. And I would so love that KPMG tax internship, but could I do that and then go to Deloitte afterwards without causing trouble?" That's just a very small sampling of the many thoughts racing through my head currently. And as if all that weren't enough, my wallet has disappeared, I have a term paper outline to prepare, and... ok, enough complaining. I think I'll go downstairs and knit for awhile. Maybe that'll calm my brain a bit. Good evening all!

|It's snowing!!!
My first interview is today. We'll see how things go. I'm not really worried, or anxious, just a tiny bit excited, as I ought to be. Like one of my professors said, if you don't have a few butterflies in your stomach, you won't appear as excited about it as you ought to to make a good impression. ;)
Kate and I went shopping last night. That was a lot of fun. She was looking for a dress to wear for her birthday date w/Ryan (her boyfriend) on Friday. I was looking for some interview clothes. I have some stuff, but I have to dress up for 4 consecutive days of interviews, and believe me, that can cause a major strain on the clothing supply. :) We found an extremely cute dress for Kate and a very nice blue shirt for me. Yay! Then we got some stuff for Nick's birthday present. You know... I'm thinking... if Nick doesn't tell us where his blog is... maybe we won't send him his present. ;)
Anyways, I've got a big long day ahead of me and I'd better get ready for it. Good day all!
P.S. It's snowing!!!

Too many lives...
Yes, it has been much too long since I've written again. Such is the life of a very active and involved (i.e. busy) college student. Between classes, work, homework, GAAP, dance, boyfriend, an attempt at a life outside of those things, and so much more... yeah, I'm very busy. Oh well. I'm happy, so it's all good. Boyfriend, yes. I'm sure at least someone paused a second on that one. :) So, his name is Chris Garben; he's sweet, cute, makes me laugh, likes to cuddle, and all those things a good boyfriend ought to be. Now for who he really is. He's a history and art double major, an honors student, he can dance pretty well... but won't dance with me (still working on that one), he's a radio dj (see picture below), his tastes in music are passable to great, and he loves giving and getting back massages. Well, that's a small idea of who he is.
In the rest of my life, since Chris is still only a small portion, many exciting things. In my dance life: Matt and I are gearing up for another latin competition at the end of the month! This time we're gonna knock the socks off everyone! Or at least do a great job and have a lot of fun doing it. ;) In other dance news, this weekend I will become a danceaholic. 4 dances in 2 nights. Friday night begins with a smooth and sweet ballroom dance at Alaskaland slightly overlapping a hot and zingy latin dance at Sunset Strip. Saturday night starts off with a dollop of frothy contra dancing at Alaskaland washed down with plenty of steamy club dancing at Club Wood. Yes, ok, that's enough of the cheesy and probably entirely incomprehensible links between dancing and drinking. Yeah, no experience in the later makes me a poor user of such lingo. Anyways, it'll be a fun and crazy weekend, assuming I get enough sleep.
In my accounting life: I have gotten all of the application materials turned in for accounting week, and all my interview times are set. In T minus one week I will have 6 interviews in a 4 day period. Yes, I know, I'm insane. But OMG, think of all the opportunities! I am very excited. We'll see what kinds of offers I get from this. It's almost frightening that this next week could decide and/or change my future entirely. It will hopefully at least help me decide what I'll be doing next semester and next summer. Yes, many opportunities.
Well, that's all I'll muse about for now. Good day everyone!

Yay... I can add pictures!
|lazy dayz
so... kate tells me i should write in my blog. so i'm writing in my blog. let's see... what's new. hm... lots of things. last night was starvation gulch. the fires were awesome and hot! :D and i think the one i helped build probably burned the longest. :D yay! otherwise, chris and i went to denny's after the bonfire and got a shake and a sundae. then we came back here and tried to watch "the saint", but were way too tired, so we finally gave up and just went to bed. now today is pretty much just a lazy day for attempting to get things done. yes, lazy, as you can tell by the complete lack of capitalization except as absolutely necessary for smileys. ;) i've actually managed to get a thing or two done today so far though, which is a good start. there's a good bit left to get done though. so, i guess i'd better keep pluggin' away at it all. good day everyone!
