A place for me to express myself and put random things that won't make sense to anyone, including me!

Thanksgiving!
Snow for Thanksgiving and at a temperature that won't make you lose a few fingers and your nose. :D It's beautiful down here, and the drive down wasn't so bad either. I didn't hit 3 moose and I didn't roll the car, so I can be thankful. :) The food smells delicious and I'm starving. Based on a short conversation with Patrick a few minutes ago, it sounds like a good thing that I'm not having Thanksgiving dinner with him or there might be a brawl over the mashed potatoes. ;) Yes, ok, I'm being a bit random. I'd better get off though, Nick needs to get online to find something for his mom. Good day all!

Hm... still a paper to write. And today is my last day to get as much as I can done before I show it to my professor in rough draft form early tomorrow morning. So I need to get busy on that soon. But first I'll give you all at least a sampling of my life since my last blog.
This last week dragged soooooo long. So much to do, so little desire to do it, and it just dragged. Fortunately this "work week" is only 2 days long for me. Wednesday morning, as early as possible, I will be driving out of town with Staska headed to Haines. Yay!
Well, Patrick just successfully managed to get me sidetracked with a cool website for over half an hour, so I'd better sign off and get busy. Here's the website if anyone's interested: http://www.cyphic.net/zoomquilt/zoom.htm or http://www.cyphic.net/zoomquilt/. It really is pretty darn awesome! But I've got work to do, so good day everyone!

Paper, Movie, Dance, Paper
10:30 on a Saturday morning. Time to get to work on that dreaded Audit paper. *sigh* It really shouldn't be so bad, but I can't stand writing, even when it is an interesting topic. Oh well, it's pretty much my only hope for a decent grade in that class at this point. And it is an interesting topic. "Experience Requirements for the CPA License" - Alaska vs. the 53 other regions and what Alaska wants to change theirs to. Still not convinced I can write 15 pages about this topic, but my professor thinks I can. (A very worrisome thought.)
Last night I purposefully didn't work on it and Kate and I went and saw "The Polar Express". It was incredibly cute. It put us in such a Christmas mood though. So when we got back, we sat down and watched "Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas", which Brandon, a friend of Kate's, had given her. I find it interesting that I have heard a lot about this Brandon, but have yet to have any clue what he looks like. I'm sure I've seen him before, but I have no way of knowing which of the zillions of people I've seen on campus is him. *shrug* Oh well, I guess it's not that important.
Tonight I'm going to the Moonlight Ball! It is going to be a blast! Chris is even coming with me, which is shocking, and he promises to dance a bit at least, which is also shocking. Patrick has promised me at least a couple waltzes already, which are long overdue, as I understand he has become a fabulous waltzer. Olin will be there too, YAY! and he owes me a few dances just for being gone so long. And of course many others. Like Jessie for ditching me as a date. ;) Haha, ok, that's not exactly fair, we kinda simultaneously and unanimously ditched each other. But he owes me a dance nonetheless. Don't worry Chris, you'll see a little of me over the course of the evening. At the very least for the half hour while we're greeting people. ;) Ok, you can all tell I'm excited. I'll even be wearing a prom dress I haven't pulled out in years. I'd better still fit it. :P

Anchorage
Hey everyone. I've decided that this whole recruiting process is really just an excuse for the employees to go out to breakfast, lunch, AND dinner every day on the company. I'm stuffed! Gosh it's good food though. I've been to more nice and expensive restuarants so far this weekend (and it's not over yet) than I've been to in my entire life I think. Bear Tooth on Friday night. Josephine's this morning. Hm... maybe it's not all that many. But they are keeping us stuffed. Yesterday was a continental breakfast on the bus on the way out to Alyeska resort. Lunch was a bbq with tons, literally tons of good food. That was followed by a casino game time with plenty of candy. Then back to Anchorage to go to a pizza party on the top floor of the Captain Cook. Which is where I'm staying btw. It's pretty ritzy. :) But the dang phones cost a buck each time you want to make a phone call. So sorry Chris and whomever else thought they might get called. Brunch this morning was at Josephine's... I don't think I've ever seen such a stylishly ritzy buffet breakfast. Even the one at that casino in Palm Springs that my grandparent's took me to wasn't quite this fancy. Then Angie (from KPMG) drove two of us recruits around and showed us a number of places. I now know where the Harvest Bread Company is... but they were closed. :P Anyways, now I'm off to go shopping. Good evening everyone!
