Angel Rocks - so much fun to climb! Posted by Hello

...and it's still not over...

Hm... 3 day weekends are nice. 4 day weekends, unless you have something special planned, are just long. But I've managed to fill most of it in rather loosely at least. Oh, nothing really happened with the "thinking" I was talking about at the end of my last blog. Sadly.

Friday morning/early afternoon I spent running errands. I got everything on that list of things I had to do done, except of course for the part where the school comes into play. Then I sat outside in the shade and finished my ethics book. It was such a gorgeous day! After Brad got off work we went grocery shopping.

Saturday morning I got up at 8 o'clock and got ready to go hiking. Brad and I were finally ready to go by about 10 and we headed out Chena Hot Springs Road to the Angel Rocks trail head. It was a beautiful hike and a gorgeous day for it too. (Pictures to follow.) After the hike, I had a date w/Travis to see if we could work out our differences. We went to dinner then went to Alaskaland and found a picnic table where we talked and swatted mosquitos. It was a fairly productive talk and things seem to be much better now. Then we went to Hot Licks for ice cream and headed back home.

Sunday was a very lazy day. I spent most of it sorting files on my computer. Brad and I went for a walk out behind campus for a little while. The weather has been so beautiful all weekend. Then in the evening Travis invited me over to watch Honey, a dance movie I hadn't seen yet. It was very good. Then Kim and Anna showed up and we watched a few episodes of SG1 before I decided I needed to go to bed.

Today I got up very late and haven't accomplished really anything yet except for this blog. Patrick and I are going out to Thai and a movie this evening. Otherwise I'm gonna go get a shower and grab a book and probably go find a nice spot outside to sit and read it. Supposedly it's going to rain tomorrow, so I've got to enjoy the sun while I can.

Good day all!

Extra long weekend ahead...

My last class for the week finished nearly an hour ago (he let us out early) and I already did all my homework for next Tuesday's classes. Well, almost. I still need to finish reading a chapter for Ethics, but I intend to just read the rest of the book at some point between now and then anyways, so that's not an issue. And of course Monday is Memorial Day, so there aren't any classes until Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. Now I have to figure out what to do with myself for 4 and a half days.

I do have a few things I need to do, such as finish the last little bits of unpacking, and convince DC&C that they should turn on the internet connection in my bedroom so that I can move my computer in there and set up my speakers and such. And I need to call KPMG and tell them I accept the job offer and then get all that paperwork finished (it's almost done already) and mailed out. Yay for having a job when I graduate! Anyways, I believe that is all that I HAVE to get done between now and Tuesday.

(...an hour later due to disruptions such as a call from John...) ;)

As for things that I want to do, I'm hoping maybe Brad or someone would like to go for a hike somewhere. Also I'm hoping that Travis and I will get a chance to sit down and sort out our differences. I don't think there's much dancing going on this weekend, but maybe I can get out to the Silver Spur and do a little on Saturday. Otherwise I'd like to get more crocheting done and relaxing definitely sounds good, but not too much, as I severely dislike relaxing to the point of boredom, which doesn't take too terribly long for me.

Well, I guess I'll see what happens. I kind of wish I had realized this was an extra long weekend earlier, then I could have maybe planned to go somewhere. Not really sure where or for what, but I could possibly come up with something. Wait a second... John doesn't leave for Vegas until the 30th. Uh oh... my brain is spinning. Hm... must go think... will update on the results later (if there are any).

Good day all!

Classes again...

I'm finally (mostly) moved into my room. Still a few more things to unpack and find places for, but basically done. Now I get to start classes. This morning. In just over an hour. Yay. I'm not at all convinced I'm ready for school again, but at the same time, I'm looking forward to being done, and that can only be accomplished by buckling down and getting things finished. The biggest thing right now though is that I'm missing John. He only left Saturday afternoon, but I know that I probably won't get to see him until August. That's a long time! We are going to do the long distance thing. I've never even wanted to try before, but I am really hoping we can make it work. It's already hard, but we'll manage somehow. Oh, but good news is that my parents are planning to fly me down to Oregon with them for the last half of August to visit w/family and see John. :D Yay!!! But that's 3 months away, and I've got classes in the meantime... starting in an hour. Good day all!

Through All These Changes...

Well, I'm in Squarebanks now. Basically just bumming places to sleep off wonderful people like Kate and Brad until I'm finally allowed to move into my room in Wick on Friday. In the meantime, I've got a ton of stuff at Chris's house, as well as too much stuff still in my car and a fridge in Brad's apartment. Yesterday I went to a bbq with Kate and her family, then cleaned out that little fridge and helped Kate pack (a bit). Then we went to another bbq at her relatives' house in town. Olin showed up in town just before that, so we dragged him along too. That was fun. I got to pester him, which is always a highlight for me. :D Today I'm going to take Olin and my crocheting and go watch graduation. There's at least a few people I know well who are graduating, so it'll be fun to watch. Congratulations to Kate, Mary, Jessica, Patrick (even though he's not walking), and anyone else that I'm forgetting. Then there's another bbq this evening with Kate's and Jessica's families. Kate and Olin are leaving early tomorrow morning to drive to Kenai, where Kate will be working this summer. During the week I'll need to do a few things, like buy school books and things like that, otherwise I'll help Brad move to Wick on Wednesday, John arrives on Thursday, I move on Friday, John leaves on Saturday, and school starts on Monday. So that's what I'm up to for the next week or so. Now, it's off to the shower, then maybe see about finding a new crochet project before finding Olin and heading to graduation. Good day all!

The Maid of Honor

Deliberate Gentle Love Master

Appreciated for your kindness and envied for all your experience, you are The Maid of Honor.

Charismatic, affectionate, and terrific in relationships, you are what many guys would call a "perfect catch"--and you probably have many admirers, each wishing to capture your long-term love. You're careful, extra careful, because the last thing you want is to hurt anyone. Especially some poor boy whose only crime was liking you.

We've deduced you're fully capable of a dirty fling, but you do feel that post-coital attachment after hooking up. So, conscientious person that you are, you do your best to reserve physical affection for those you respect...so you can respect yourself.

Your biggest negative is the byproduct of your careful nature: indecision. You're just as slow rejecting someone as you are accepting them.

Now you try it! OkCupid Test

Best Laid Plans of Mice

Well. It has been forever and a day since I blogged last, as people keep reminding me. So much going on, yet I'm less busy than usual. ... Don't worry, I don't understand either.

Anyways, last weekend was fun. John and I drove up to Fbks to visit friends, get my summer tires, and go to an accounting awards luncheon. The awards luncheon was fun and gave me a chance to reconnect with the collegiate accounting world in Fbks. Getting my tires was exciting. I had intended to change them while I was up there too, but all the places were backed up for days. So I brought them home w/me and finally got them done today. Visiting friends is always fun, naturally, but we had a great time and did some fun stuff. Karaoke, dinner at Hot Tamales, contra dancing, barbeques, beautiful sunny weather. It was a good weekend. And the drive was gorgeous too. And it was raining when we hit Talkeetna on the way down. I love the rain so much! It kinda sorta tried to rain today, but not really. Everything is green though! When John and I left for Fbks last Friday morning, everything was still that just out of winter drab. When we were driving back on Sunday, I suddenly realized that everything was green! Not even a barely budding green, but full on spring green. And green grass too. Yes, absolutely gorgeous.

Well, I'm rambling and not saying anything too important, so I'm gonna sign off for now. Goodnight all!
