A place for me to express myself and put random things that won't make sense to anyone, including me!

Back again

I'm home again, or at least back to Fbks at any rate. I think my heart is still down in Oregon, but unfortunately there's not much I can do about that. Two and a half weeks wasn't nearly enough time to be in Oregon, but it was a lot of fun regardless. It was great to see my grandparents, aunt and uncle, cousin, as well as my immediate family again. (And of course Murphy (grandma's yorkie), the miniature horses, Jake (big chocolate lab), and the cats.) And obviously I enjoyed seeing John and his family, including the dogs and ferret. And I got to see Shalla, my best friend from middle school, and her niece. I also got to visit with Emma and her family who moved down there recently. And John and I went camping on the coast with Joe. We did lots of other things too, but if you want to hear about those, you'll have to pry them out of me in person or on the phone... I'm not in a type-everything mood right now. In fact I'm really very, very tired seeing as I got back this morning after a grueling 16 hours of airports and airplanes. (Btw... if you're flying in a 737-400 jet, do not chose seats 12F or 12A. They don't recline. Even on a 3 and a half hour red eye flight.) And of course I haven't stopped doing things since I landed at 8 o'clock this morning. And I've still got more to do. And classes start at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow. Oh, and I start working next Wednesday at NATC. Anyways, will write more later, probably. Good day all!

3 days til I leave!!!!!

So, it's my last week in town before I take off to Oregon for half a month and suddenly I have a million things to do! I have a class to finish, a distance class to finish up to a certain point (not doing so well on that one), dancing to do, the fair to go to, and friends to hang out with and give rides to. Not that I mind any of it, well, except maybe the class parts; I'd be happy to skip those. Oh, and I have to do laundry and pack... at some point. I think that might end up being Friday afternoon before heading to the airport. :P Although I was hoping to take a nap then since I have to travel all night. *shrug* Que sera, sera. I'm so excited to be leaving in 3 days though, even though I've hardly had a chance to think about it yet. I'll be there soon John!

In other topics, I'm thinking about taking an ASL (American Sign Language) class this fall. It does fit in my schedule, although tightly. I've been learning odds and ends from Travis and Jessica when I can and I really like it, but I don't know if I could/should handle another class. I know my mother will say I should stick to working on spanish, but I can't take any spanish classes with my regular class schedule. And I really need to find a way to just practice spanish instead of taking more classes cause the classes are way over my head since I don't have the fluency to help me keep up. Someday, hopefully before too many years pass, I'll be able to go to a spanish speaking country and immerse myself for awhile. But in the meantime, I'd like to try some ASL. I'd honestly like to try a lot of different languages, but most of them are romantic languages and I'm scared to try to learn more than one of those because I'm bound to get them confused. :P But ASL is much more like english, at least I can think in english while signing and not be so far off. Anyways, it will add to my class load, so I have to think about that. Plus it makes my Tuesdays and Thursdays even fuller than they already are. We'll see.

Anyways, I need to try to get some homework done for my distance class and call John. Goodnight all!
