A place for me to express myself and put random things that won't make sense to anyone, including me!

In love...
...with Ghirardelli's Dark Chocolate Squares. (And John too.) And I'm out! No more! Gone! It's sacriligious!!! So, a plea to every good looking, thoughtful guy out there... I NEED MORE CHOCOLATE!!!
lol, ok, so we'll see if John took the hint. ;)
Anyways, guess what. I'm writing in my blog because I should be writing my performance evaluations. :S Yeah, same idea as writing in my blog to avoid hw, except at least with homework you don't have to write about yourself! Ugh, this is like my worst english assignment x 10 relived all over again. And it only needs to be about 5 paragraphs or so. But it's writing about myself and how I think I did on various projects and why I think I did well or poorly and what I can improve upon and what I think I don't need to improve upon. Yeah. In a nutshell, my response is, "I learned a ton and I've got a ton more to learn." But that one sentence doesn't exactly fill 5 paragraphs. I'm obviously not ready for school to start again.
Speaking of school starting again... that's only about a month away. I'm finally signed up for all my classes and I have a place to stay, even though they haven't told me which room I'll have for the summer yet for certain. And the first half of the summer I am officially on overload status. They apparently think that taking 9 credits in 6 weeks is a bit much. And since they think it is, I'm getting a tad worried. Be forewarned everyone... I may be arriving in Fbks in the middle of May, but you very well may not see me until the beginning of July. I hope it's not that bad though. I really hope it doesn't entail too many papers. I can handle a 50+ page tax return, but writing 5 paragraphs scares the living daylights out of me. And naturally I'm taking ethics. Yay. *dripping sarcasm* And two business classes. I'm seriously hoping they are as easy as every other business class I've taken. But at any rate, it'll all be over in 6 weeks, then I can sit back, relax, and take one easy science class... Alaska Natural History. Shouldn't be too bad, besides the part where I'm in class for an hour 5 times a week, plus another 3 hours twice a week for the lab. But it shouldn't be too hard at any rate. Maybe I can even work a little on the other 3 days when I'm not in lab and make some money, cause for some reason my current high paying job isn't sticking to the bank account so well. Yeah, I'll come out of it with a few thousand and a paid off car, but that car had better not die on me, or I am so screwed.
Well... I'd better get back to those performance evaluations. The sooner they're done, the sooner I can get back to my crocheting. Oh, yeah, forgot to tell you all. I taught myself how to crochet last weekend. :D I love it!
Goodnight all!

Tired and stressed
Busy season is finally dying. Finally. I think I am too though. I mean, I really do love what I'm doing, but the long hours are getting to me.
Of course this whole time changing thing isn't helping matters, AT ALL! Why on earth do we keep up this stupid tradition anyways? I vote that we get rid of it in Alaska, and preferably throughout the US. It would make life so much easier.
Well, anyways, as you can tell, I've been working a lot. This weekend was fairly relaxing though. (Although it didn't help much today apparently.) Friday night, John and I went to Boston's for dinner (he hadn't been there yet), and then we went dancing at Club Soraya. I only danced with someone other than John once, and didn't get to do any salsas, but it was fun anyways. John, though, needs to not workout so hard the day of a dance, and he needs to not be scared to dance more than just merengue (I got him to do one or two bachatas). It'd help if he had time to take some dance classes too, but time is generally an issue there, which I understand all too well.
Saturday I finally made it in to work by a bit after noon and worked until nearly 5. 55 hour weeks don't allow for free weekends very well. Work was more stressful than usual, but I think that was mostly due to me not wanting to be there at all. After work I went shopping for some ingredients to make some costa rican dishes, and also something to make for dinner at John's. I made egg noodles with Campbell's cream of broccoli soup and broccoli on them. A variation on my favorite dish that my mom always made, which I love. And it's so easy! John loved it, so much that the next day he bought the ingredients to make it himself. John's mom might be a gourmet chef, but he still swoons over the simple stuff... i.e. my and my mom's style. ;) After dinner we went swimming for a bit, then watched Office Space.
Sunday morning... well, afternoon, I woke up thinking it was probably about 10ish, looked at my cell phone for the time and it was 12:15 p.m.! I was completely shocked. Sad thing is, I didn't discover until a few hours later that the time had changed that night. But I got up and started figuring out what ingredients I still needed for my costa rican dishes. I had only gotten the fancier ones the day before. So John and I came up with a list of things to buy and went shopping. Then I spent the afternoon taking over John's parents' kitchen (it's bigger than John's), making yuca frita (fried yuca), guacamole, tortillas con queso (cheese tortillas), and cajeta de leche (milk fudge). John was in his apartment making some sort of fancy chicken with mushrooms and a lemon herb sauce. It was very relaxing just cooking away, on my own terms and with my own timeframe. It was all a big experiment, since the only thing I'd made before was guacamole, and even that was an experiment, cause the avocados weren't as ripe as they should have been, so it took more talent in the seasoning department. Well, at any rate, the food (John's and mine) turned out well. The two of us and John's dad sat down and enjoyed it (i.e. stuffed ourselves). Then I drove home barely in time to get to bed on time, but still managed to stay up way too late. Then I couldn't get to sleep when I did try. *sigh* Stupid time change.
Well, that's the story of my weekend. I'm on a 50 hour schedule this week and am supposed to be on only 40 hours starting next week. That will be heaven! Hopefully it really does happen that soon. At any rate, 50 is better than 55, so I'm not complaining.
I'm sure there was more I wanted to say, but as always, this blog is forever long anyways, so good day all!
P.S. Did I really just say "good day" at 9 o'clock at night??? It's too damn light outside!
