A place for me to express myself and put random things that won't make sense to anyone, including me!

Wow!!! & Ow!!!
Those two expressions are exactly how I feel right now. Camp Damp was awesome! I had such a wonderful time. I don't think I've ever had so much fun dancing. :D But I also hurt like hell right now, and my energy levels are down to zero. My legs are beyond sore, mostly because they started out sore this morning and then I danced until 3:30 p.m. on them, despite the fact they were sore. *sigh* Oh well, that's what I get for dancing so much I guess. :D It really was a lot of fun though.
It all started Friday evening with a potluck/bbq with lots of good fish. Then there was contra dancing that evening until about midnight. The band for the weekend was Bag o' Tricks, and excellent contra band from the Seattle area, and the caller, Laura Me, was absolutely awesome. Possibly even better than Lynn. :-o Everyone there was at the very least a good contra dancer, with some being downright amazing!
Tim let me borrow his 4-man tent to sleep in for the weekend and Friday night I slept like a rock. Didn't get a lot of sleep, but it was enough for me to be wide awake and happy in the morning. Saturday morning started at about 6 a.m. with kitchen duty. Since I was there because of a kitchen scholarship, I got to be in the kitchen a lot, especially on Saturday. But it was fun. Tim quickly became the only person who could successfully get the dishwasher to work and I quickly learned, or decided, where everything was supposed to be put away. So we ended up doing that after every meal for most of the weekend. We had so much fun teasing each other while doing it that several people told us we were having way too much fun washing and drying dishes.
Saturday was full of workshops and dancing. For the workshop just before lunch, Chuck and I taught a waltz class. That was a lot of fun. We had chosen some cool moves to teach and just about everyone picked them up very well. After lunch there was a square dancing workshop which I probably should have done, but my feet (and body) needed some rest, so I laid down in the tent and kinda slept. The next workshop I went to was singing. That was fun, and good for just after a nap. We sang all kinds of songs, many of which I'd never heard of before, but it was still fun, especially since I had the words in front of me, I was able to sing along fairly well. Then there was a hambo class. That was a lot of fun!!! Hambo is a swedish dance done to 3 count music and it's not incredibly difficult, but the pivots are definitely tricky. It was fun though, and Tim and I got pretty good at it.
Saturday night there was more dancing after dinner until about 12:30 or 1 a.m. So many awesome contras and I even did a square dance which made me decide I actually kinda like square dancing. So Brad, we might have to hit some of those square dances in Fbks now. :D Lots of fun dancing though, and lots of great partners to dance with. Sometimes I felt like I was being fought over, especially when it came to the waltzes. Chuck and Tim kept racing over to ask me to waltz anytime one started and then they started trying to save them ahead of time. :) It was amusing and fun and nice to know I didn't have to worry about not having anyone to dance with.
Well, it's getting late and I'm so tired I can't focus on what I'm writing. (Not to mention the tv is on and focusing on anything else is nearly impossible.) I'll finish tomorrow. Goodnight all!
